MANCHESTER CITY ALL SET TO MOUNT TITLE CHALLENGE

By Hamzah Ahmad Khan

As the new season gets underway and Manchester city look to begin their title charge they face West Bromwich Albion. Saido Berahino a possible Man City target, being English and young, has a perfect chance to prove himself worthy of a move to the championship contenders. The match is also going to be a test of the Manchester city defense with no new signings. Hopefully youngster Jason Denayer will be being given a chance to prove his worth. The young player was the Scottish Leagues best young player and has shown great composure earning plaudits from his international coach as well as team captain Vincent Kompany. Moving our focus to attack, preseason star Iheanacho is a possible starter in place of an injured Bony though fans will be hoping to see the January signing finally show his true colors. He will be supported by the likes of David Silva, new signing Raheem Sterling and a rejuvenated Yaya Toure. An attack like this is a mouthwatering prospect with City fans hoping of continuing their tradition of blowing away their opening day opponents. The match could also see Marcos Lopez feature as a substitute after returning from his loan in Ligue 1. The match is a good fixture for City with West Brom a considerably weaker team and are one of the favorites to be relegated despite having signed Liverpool flop, striker Rickie Lambert.  Lambert though can offer experience to the young Berahino. As with all the last championship winning campaigns this one also starts on a Monday and City fans will be hoping to see the team outscore their opponents as they continually have been in matches such as the 6-1 at United or 6-3 at Arsenal. An entertaining season is about to get underway and City have for the past few seasons always proven to be the most entertaining of the lot. A rejuvenated attack and 3 academy players being promoted to the first team with a fair chance to feature makes it look like an exciting season for City who will be eagerly awaiting the return of some of their best players in Zabaleta and Aguero and even Fernandinho who is under appreciated for the defensive shift he puts in. A new season begins and brings new hope with it. Blue moon rising.
