Chelsea looking to kickstart their season

By Shaukat Hamdani

This is not how Chelsea imagined their season would look three weeks in. One point from two games, near the bottom of the table. The good thing is the season is long and this is just the beginning. The even better thing is that the transfer window is still open and Jose Mourinho can improve his squad and fix the weaknesses.

The hijack of Pedro from Manchester United (who have now one into denial saying that they never wanted him and Ed Woodward was in Barcelona only chilling in the sunshine) shows a lot of intent and determination to rectify the wrongs.

The signing of Baba Rahman (the highly rated left back from the Bundesliga) and highly rated Brazilian youngster Kenedy from Fluminense will add strength in depth to the squad.  But what made me the most happy were reports of Chelsea going after Pogba. While I did believe Juventus, after having lost so many players this window, would not part with the player. But the audacity of the reported bid shows that Mourinho and Roman Abramovich are serious.

With all this new transfer news to raise moral, Chelsea should win against West Brom. Not only should they win its time to make a statement that Chelsea are back.
