Premier League teams looking good after UEFA Champions league draw

By  James Folsom

Champions League Group Stage pairings are out. Let’s look at the Premier League teams and who they are matched up with and what are the chamces of these teams advancing to the Round of 16.

Man U is in Group B. For a team that had to play their way in, they sure seem to have gotten a good draw. They have Wolfsburg from Bundesliga, PSV for the Netherlands and CSKA from Russia. None of these names strike fear. Man U advances.
City draws Juventus, last year’s runner-up, Sevilla and Monchengladbach. That’s a much tougher draw, but we still like City to finish in the top half of this group and move on. Juventus likely goes with them.
Arsenal draws Bayern Munich. That will be a lot of fun. They also get Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiacos. Obviously Bayern Munich advances, but which of the other three make it out? Well, I may be a bit biased but I will go with Arsenal.
Chelsea is in with Porto, Dynamo Kyiv and Tel Aviv. Tel Aviv only got this far on a tie breaker. They won’t make it out. So Chelsea has to get past one of the other two. I believe they get it done.
So, I believe the  Premier League will do well in Group Stage play and send four teams to the Round of 16! Go City!
