With no games this week, what to talk about? How about the transfer news or in Arsenal’s case ,the lack thereof?
Arsenal looks like a team capable of making a Champions League bid for next season and perhaps with another good striker could give Manchester City a good run for the Premier League Championship. Instead they have decided to go with the roster they have. Actually they are the only team in the top 5 leagues to not have bought an outfield player.
Meanwhile City have added another good player in Kevin de Bruyne who they added from Wolfsburg where he had one goal in their four matches thus far. That’s all the rest of the Premier League needed was City to add yet another goal scorer.
Manchester United lost Javier Hernandez who missed a penalty for them in their Champions League match last week against Club Brugge. They are saying it is no big loss and perhaps it isn’t, but how does this make them better?
Chelsea seems to be a hot mess these days. They too did not get much done this past week and they are not off to a good start. Their previous transfer acquisitions such as Falcao have not panned out either.
The International Break could not have come at a better time for the supposed contenders other than City. Right now none of them are in a Champions League spot with City. Those teams are Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Swansea City. But Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal are only one point out so it is not time to panic just yet.
