Chelsea looking to bounce back after the international break

By Shaukat Hamdani

Thank God the international break is over. But it came at a good time for Chelsea. It gives us a chance to reset and start things fresh. It also gave Jose Mourinho time to think about his new decisions and the hard decisions that need to be made. I honestly wouldn’t mind a few changes, just to jolt the player. Baba in place of Ivanovic seems like a popular option amongst Chelsea fans. I wouldn’t even mind Kenedy replacing Willian or Falcao starting in place of Costa. Some have gone as far as saying maybe Loftus-Cheek should play in the midfield alongside Matic and move Cesc in behind the striker. All I know is that something has to change and I would be really surprised and disappointed to be honest if tomorrow’s team sheet doesn’t have at least one outfield change.

The big blow for Chelsea is losing Courtois for up to 3 months. While Begovic is a good number 2, he still is no Courtois. Good luck to him because we need to sort our defense out. One interesting thing to watch out for would be to see how John Stones plays against us after a whole summer of transfer speculation and the “accidental transfer request” he handed to Everton.

All in all I am pretty confident we will turn things around tomorrow. It’s kind of like a second start for us and we need a win to finally kick off our campaign and also get ready for the Champions league. 2-1 maybe?
