The big game is here. Chelsea have been awful in the league so far but what better way to kick start their season then play Arsenal. I mean come on, look at Wenger’s record against Mourinho. The odds are with us. We should easily be able to get at least a point. The way the season has panned out so far I would gladly take a point, with arms wide open. I know we are used to 3 points but for now a point should be enough. Cause the worst case option is just not an option. Cannot lose, that’s a no no. Pretty sure Jose and I agree on that. So that leads us to the tough decisions he faces.
Well we had a great game midweek in Europe. Granted it was against Tel Aviv, but still the results we were having before that I was fearing the worst. Jose made some changes and suddenly the team clicked. So what does Jose do then? Because Arsenal surely are a better team then our midweek opponents. Concern is Baba is inexperienced but Ivanovic has been awful but has experience. So do you play Baba on the left and move Azpi to the right to play Sanchez ( I must admit he is a good player). Or will Jose go back to the experienced Ivanovic (if Jose was twitter that would not be an option).
Then we have the problem in the center of the defense. Zouma had a great game midweek, plus he is our fastest central defender. But of course Terry with his experience has to play. So Jose, Cahill or Zouma? Then there is the midfield problem. Cesc and Matic have not worked. Mikel played one game I think and was alright. On the other hand Loftus-Cheek was man of the match against Tel Aviv. Is there a scenario where you don’t pick him? You need matic for the defensive duties, and you can’t move Cesc behind the striker because Oscar deserves that spot. So Loftus-Cheek or Cesc? Big call by Jose here. Plus imagine the banter if Cesc didn’t start against Arsenal.
Up top I feel like Costa has to start, especially after the confidence boost he must have gotten from his recent goal. As I mentioned earlier Oscar should be behind him. Mourinho has publicly backed Hazard again, despite his penalty miss, so he should be starting. It’s only a matter of time before he gets out of his bad form. So that leaves one spot on the right wing. If it was 100% Pedro was fit, he would have started but since there are doubts it’s going to be a late call. If Pedro isn’t available, I don’t think Jose is gonna risk one of the kids so it’s either Remy or Ramires. And I think Mourinho is going to go for Ramires because he trusts him more.
All in all m glad I don’t have to be the one making these calls. Hindsight is 20/20 and if things go south after Jose makes his decisions all hell will break loose. But I am pretty confident we won’t lose this one. so Keep The Blue Flag Flying High.
