After stumbling yet again at Newcastle United and still not hitting form in the Barclays Premier League Chelsea will be looking to find some comfort in Europe as they visit Porto for their Champions League match. The team from London won their first match comfortably, but it was against Tel Aviv so one really doesn’t know how much to look into it. With Porto having drawn there opening game with Dynamo Kiev this is a perfect opportunity for the only team in London to have one the Champions league to strengthen their position in Europe.
So this basically is a must win for Chelsea now. Anything less then a win could do a lot of harm to the confidence of a team that is already pretty low on it. Mourinho is clearly frustrated with his players but his hands are really tied. He could make a few changes if like 2, 3 players were out of form. The problem he faces is that the majority of his squad is just not performing. But like he pointed out recently he can be ruthless and if this lot don’t get their act together you could see Mourinho be like fuck it and play the kids pretty soon. The special one has already said that no one in this team is untouchable.
Now its time for the players to step it up and this is the perfect opportunity for them. A European adventure might just be whats needed to get this team ticking again.
