Moment of truth for Chelsea as they take on Aston Villa

By Shaukat Hamdani

Despite what the papers in England say the word coming out of the Chelsea camp is that they are confident of turning this disaster of a start to the season around. Jose Mourinho insists that the team has solutions to the problems they face and is confident that Chelsea will start to rise in the table soon. There have been rumors that players in the camp are not happy with the Special One, but players have come out and publicly backed the manager.

I guess this is what happens when your team is playing badly and I guess it intensifies during the international break because these so called journalists have nothing else to talk about. But now Chelsea have the perfect chance to set things straight. This is their moment of truth. They take on Aston Villa, one of the few teams in the league that are currently having a worse off season then Chelsea. So this is the perfect opportunity for the players to let their game do the talking.

One interesting development is the injury to Ivanovic ruling him out for weeks. This next run of game should also make clear if the problem was Ivanovic. Whoever Mourinho choses to play at the right back position, it won’t be Ivanovic. So a lot of Chelsea fans should get an answer to how bad Ivanovic really was.

Mourinho has promised Chelsea starlet Ruben Loftus-Cheek a run of games to prove his worth since players like Matic, Cesc and Oscar have lost form in a pretty drastic fashion. So the question is who gets dropped? I guess we will find out soon but I hope Loftus-Cheek takes his chance well and gives the team a much needed momentum boost to kick start a turn around. KEEP THE BLUE FLAG FLYING HIGH!!!!!
