Two defenders that Mourinho should go for this January Transfer Window

By Doni June Almio

  1. Marquinhos

The young Brazilian from Paris Saint Germain is rumored to be one of the targets of Mourinho for January’s transfer market. It’s not really a rumor because Chelsea seeked for this youngster’s signature back in the summer transfer window. However, Marquinhos’ agent rejected the offer of Chelsea. Mourinho will basically go after Marquinhos in January because of Chelsea’s current defensive woes. The Brazilian is young, fast, and quick, unlike Terry. There’s a lot of room for development and Mourinho would want that for his team. Let’s see this January if Marquinhos would want to play for Chelsea. His decision may be different than before considering that he is only a third choice for center back in PSG behind fellow Brazilians David Luiz and Thiago Silva.

  1. John Stones

Mourinho was seriously aiming to get John Stones from Everton last summer. However, Everton rejected not only one but four offers from Chelsea and Mourinho for the defender. It was also said that Stones’ request to leave Everton was also rejected by the management. Just like Marquinhos, Stones is a young player that has a lot of room for improvement. He may be a big help for Chelsea’s defense if Everton will agree to release him this January. Considering the number of offers that Chelsea did to get Stones, it is expected that he will again be the subject of Chelsea this upcoming January transfer window. Chelsea might already be starting to make space for him through a rumored loan of Djilobodji.
