Klopp Era officially Begins

By Iftakhar Sheikh

You might say that he got lucky to face an out of form Chelsea side but taking out city and that too at Etihad Stadium was just more than a statement. Klopp era has now actually begun and the way Klopp has announced himself deserves more than just applaud.

He surely looks like a clown on the sidelines with the range of emotions he expresses at dugout but his team plays like it is managed by someone completely opposite of clown. It was a total football performance from Liverpool.

Pressing high up the field, passing the ball fluently and with purpose are things Klopp has inculcated in the Reds.

The game was done and dusted in the first 32 minutes. First a Mangala own goal in the 8th minute gave Liverpool the lead. Then beautiful moves generated the second and third goal in the 23 and 32nd minute respectively. First Firmino assisting Coutinho for the second goal and for the third goal the roles were reversed.

Sergio Aguero did pull one back before half time in 44th minute. But Skrtel then scored in the 81st minute with a stunning strike to put the game to bed. The points for Liverpool and a huge statement made by Klopp.
