Arsenal at it Again

By Iftakhar Sheikh

Inconsistency has a synonym and that is Arsenal and if you personify inconsistency then there is no better candidate than Arsene Wenger for that. A win at this time of the season was crucial as finally league table is taking some shape. With teams like United, Spurs and Leicester dropping points it was a golden opportunity for Arsenal to capitalize. Yet they failed again.

Mesut Ozil the magician opened the scoring at Carrow road in the 30th minute after being beautifully set up by Alexis Sanchez. 13 minutes later Arsenal gave up the lead as Lewis Grabban scored a goal. Arsenal as usual were flamboyant in attack yet not able to finish the chances.

Obviously how can you finish those chances when Olivier Giroud is upfront for you. Alexis limped off the field in the 60th minute and any chances of a win vanished with his departure. As usual Arsenal had 63% possession and 8 attempts on goal. But the point where Arsene wenger needs to do his home work is that out of 8 attempts just two were on goal.

Obviously Wenger needs a striker to have any chance of winning the league. Arsenal need to sign a good and lethal finisher in January transfer window if they are to finish their finishing woes. The result sees Arsenal sitting at their beloved 4th spot. Now that’s some consistancy.
