Tottenham left minding the gap after late Newcastle winner

Tottenham were cruising with victories in both domestic and European competitions. They faced Newcastle at White Hart Lane and the match ended in utter disappointment for the spurs. Eric Dier opened the scoring through Eriksen’s corner. Although the keeper got a hand to it but it wasn’t enough to stop the ball from entering the net.

Mitrovic ignited the Newcastle comeback in the 74th minute. Spurs were facing the pressure of their recent success and they finally cracked underneath it in the last minute when Ayozo Perez put the ball in the back of the net in the 90th minute.

Spurs are now down back on earth after this defeat as it is a reality check for them after a brilliant run of form.

Tottenham are 5th in the table with 26 points while Newcastle are 2 points above the relegation zone. Just goes to show how Tottenham have been humbled. As they say mind the gap.
